Tutorial Group: Volatile Bodies

The tutorial group I got into was volatile bodies and I like how it seems to focus a lot on movement, abstraction and how the users interact with space. One of the artists we looked at last week was Rebecca Horn. Below are some of her works:

I found her works to be quite interesting. She investigates the way attachments and binding alter the human form and affect the way it moves. Some of the works such as Stelarc however I found to be slightly disturbing such as in his work 'Ear' Cosmetic Surgery where he grafted a synthetic ear to his skin.
